Re-Involt began in 2008 as a Hybrid and Electric Vehicle division of Taylor Automotive Inc.  Taylor Automotive has been a pioneer in the area of Hybrid vehicle service since 2004.   In 2008, we built our first ever Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle from a 2005 Dodge Ram Quad Cab truck.  We chose this truck due to it's excessive weight and poor baseline fuel economy.  Since performing the conversion, our truck has gone from a baseline of 12 mpg city and 14 mpg highway to 18.6 mpg city and 22.3 mpg highway.  Currently, we have complete manual control over the electric acceleration of the vehicle using a thumb actuated throttle control mounted to the transmission shifter.  We have achieved a top mpg rating of 44.2 mpg on short commutes of 10 miles or less by using the electric boost for 90% of the power needs.  Testing is still being performed and an automated control system will be available in late August 2008.
